Air New Zealand showcases its new Boeing 777-200 in North America

Air New Zealand recently launched its “Pleased to Seat You” road trip across North America. The purpose of the road trip is to showcase two of the most innovative seats and provide a glimpse into the in-flight experience that the airline expects to introduce on its newly refurbished Boeing 777-200 fleet.

Media reports said that Air New Zealand will be showcasing its innovative seats in Economy Skycouch and Premium Economy cabins. According to the reports, there will be a trio of seats in the award-winning Economy Skycouch. The seats will be transformed into a flat, flexible space for stretching out and relaxing. The seats in Economy Skycouch are best suited for couples or families. The reports further stated that the Premium Economy cabin will offer luxurious and comfortable ink-colored leather seats to the travellers for relaxing. The seats will also have individual armrests as well as a leg rest with extendable foot support.

A spokesperson of Air New Zealand said that the airline will be utilizing its refurbished Boeing 777-200 aircrafts for conducting flights from Auckland to Houston and Vancouver. The new Auckland-Vancouver and Auckland-Houston routes would provide greater connectivity and comfort to North American customers for travelling to New Zealand and Australia. The airline said that the flights would depart from Houston and Vancouver early in the evening and reach Auckland early in the morning. Thus, the convenient overnight service would be beneficial for customers as it will allow them same-day connections to eight Australian cities and 24 domestic destinations within New Zealand.

Air New Zealand will start operating flights to Vancouver from Auckland effective from October 25, 2015. However, the flights between Houston and Auckland would be launched from December 15, 2015.
