Airberlin increasing flights to Russia this winter

There will be no dearth of plane tickets at competitive rates for those planning to travel from Germany to Russia in the winter this year. German carrier Airberlin recently announced it will be increasing its flights operations to Russia from winter 2013/2014.

The airline in a statement said that it will start offering twice daily flights from Berlin to St. Petersburg. Airberlin also indicated that service on its popular Berlin-Moscow route would also be increased with an additional flight per week bringing it to a total of 14 weekly flights.

Apart from Moscow and St. Petersburg, Airberlin is also operating nonstop flights to Kaliningrad from Berlin, Dusseldorf, Munich and Vienna. The airline is currently offering a total of up to 63 flights every week to Russia. The flights to Russia being offered by the airline connects up to 57 destinations worldwide.
 
Paul Gregorowitsch, Airberlin’s Chief Commercial Officer, said that the airline considers Russia to be a key strategic market and has only reacted to increased demand by expanding its service to Russia and consequently bolstering its position.
