Allegiant Air to add several new flights from Kentucky

Allegiant Air has recently announced the launch of nonstop flights from Kentucky to Fort Lauderdale and Phoenix. Now flights will commence from October 9 and November 12, 2014 respectively.

The new flights will operate from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. This will be a four times weekly service operating on every Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Phoenix service will be twice a week operating every Wednesdays and Saturdays. The carrier will also be adding extra weekly flights to St. Petersburg, Punta Gorda, and Orlando from Cincinnati.

Andrew C. Levy, President and COO of Allegiant Air, said that we are very excited to add more low cost flights in Cincinnati. Since the beginning of operations in Cincinnati earlier this year the community has demonstrated an overwhelming response towards low cost vacation travel. We are confident that we will continue receiving such over enthusiastic response and the travelers will appreciate the introduction of nonstop service to these new destinations.

Candace McGraw, CEO of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport, said that the airport is happy with the fact that the airline has increased its service to more than double. The new services to Fort Lauderdale and Phoenix and the additional service to St. Petersburg, Punta Gorda, and Orlando will not only offer passengers with low cost travel options but will also boost the economy of the city. Increased services result in 157 percent increase in flights from the airport. He credited the success of Cincinnati Airport to the local community, without whom this would not have been possible.

Allegiant Air started operating at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport from February 2014 with a nonstop service to Orlando. Since then the airline has added two more Florida destinations along with seasonal summer service to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. The addition of new flights at CVG will increase the airline’s service to 18 weekly flights from its present seven weekly flights. This has made Cincinnati the quickest developing originating city in the history of the airline.
