Allegiant Air, the budget carrier operating services across the United States is in high spirits. After all, the airline just completed fifteen years of operating scheduled passenger service just recently. In a ceremony, the airline memorialized its maiden flight that debuted between Fresno in California and Las Vegas in Nevada on February 28, 1999.
The low cost carrier, at present, offers cheap flights to about 100 destinations within the United States. The airline has grown tremendously in all these years by providing the passengers an affordable means of travel.
It commenced its journey with an asset of a single plane. However, today it boasts of a fleet of 68 aircrafts. Last year, the airline flew more than 7 million passengers to their respective destinations, which in itself is a great achievement. Today, its name is taken in high regards in comparison to other carriers that too fly on the domestic sector. In the last few years, it has helped more than 40 million passengers arrive at their specific destinations. With each passing year, it is increasing the frequency of its non-stop service between different cities.
Last year, the Allegiant airline made few wise decisions that helped it strengthen its network enormously. It added 15 new cities to its itinerary that helped add 39 more routes to its schedules. It rigidly follows its low-cost philosophy, which has played a pivotal role in its growth process. Hence, it prefers to keep its one-way fares under $100 mark throughout. It however, offers several amenities onboard but charges a particular fee for each service. In line with this ideology, it lately announced its operational results. Interestingly, for a record period of 44th successive quarter, it posted profits.
