Allegiant Air, which offers cheap flights, has good news for all its passengers. The airline announced the launch of nonstop service to eight new destinations from Punta Gorda. The announcement is a major step towards the expansion and penetration into new market routes by the budget carrier. It will fly from Punta Gorda near Fort Myers to cities across the United States.
Service to the new routes will start from this fall between October 30 and December 18, 2013. With the start of operations to these new destinations, Las Vegas based Allegiant will provide nonstop service to 19 destinations from Punta Gorda. Initially it will operate weekly flights to these newly added cities.

- Allentown From October 31
- Asheville From November 2
- Bangor From October 30
- Cedar Rapids From December 18
- Des Moines From December 19
- Moline/Quad Cities From November 1
- Springfield/Branson From October 31
- Youngstown From October 30
Presently Allegiant offers direct service from Punta Gorda to 11 cities in the country. These cities are Fort Wayne, Greenville/Spartanburg, Knoxville, Lexington, Niagara Falls, Peoria, Plattsburgh, Rockford, South Bend, Springfield, and Toledo.
Andrew Levy, President of Allegiant Travel Company said that Southwest Florida has been a successful destination for the airline. He added that the expansion from Punta Gorda would help the airline offer service to markets along the Southwest Florida coast. He expressed happiness to collaborate with an airport that operates in a cost-friendly environment.
