American Airline introduces flight service to Helsinki

American Airlines has recently launched new direct flight service between Chicago and Helsinki. The airline will serve the new European city from 1st May 2011. This new launch will make Helsinki the tenth European destination that would be served by American Airlines.

The new route will facilitate Finnish passengers to connect to 75 other destinations in United States and US passengers to 15 European destinations. This will also strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

Olavi Goos, Finland Honorary Consul, said, “Good connections are essential to get people to meet and experience new ideas and develop business and cultural ties. American Airlines, supported by Finnair, is establishing a historic, new direct flight connection that will finally fill the gap that has separated Chicago, the Midwest, and Helsinki – not only by distance, but by lack of mutual awareness.”
