American Airlines to add second weekly flight to Martinique

American Airlines, the giant commercial players in the United States aviation industry announced its decision to add another flight to Martinique. The airline will operate its second weekly flight between Miami and Martinique between November 27, 2013 and March 26, 2014.

American’s decision has created a flutter in the island located in the Lesser Antilles in the eastern Caribbean Sea. The Martinique Tourism Authority is thrilled and believes it to be a good news for the locals as it gives them another option to connect with the United States. The flights on the route will operate every Wednesday and Saturday.

Passengers who wish to explore the French territory during the peak tourist season can book airline tickets on this route and relish the tropical weather. The carrier had earlier launched weekly service to the island destination in April.

As per the schedule, the flight from Miami will depart on Wednesdays at 11:30 am and embark on its return journey from Martinique at 4:25 pm. It will use the services of Boeing 737 aircraft with a seating capacity of 16 business class and 134 economy class seats.

Karine Roy-Camille, Martinique Tourism Commissioner said that this additional flight reiterates American Airlines’ commitment to the island as a popular tourist destination. Adding that the island is more than ready to welcome tourists from the United States and there is a lot to explore in the island of flowers.
