American Airlines to begin new service to Brazil in December

American Airlines recently said that its international winter flying schedule will see some changes as it moves ahead to add yet another new service to Latin America and better match its capacity keeping in view the growing customer demand.

The airline in a statement said that it will begin new flights to Campinas’ Viracopos International Airport in Brazil. The flights to Campinas will be operated from the airline’s hubs at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Miami International Airport.

Campinas will be the airline’s 10th destination in Brazil. With the launch of the new service, American Airlines will further bolster its position as a prominent U.S. carrier providing more travel options than any other carrier in Brazil. The new service comes as a boon for scores of travelers seeking to book flights to/from the state of Sao Paulo.

A spokesperson of American Airlines said that the new flights between Viracopos International Airport and New York JFK will be operated thrice weekly starting from December 1, 2014. The airline will also be launching daily flight service to Viracopos International Airport from Miami International Airport starting from December 2, 2014. The new service to both these destinations is yet to be approved by the government.

The airline said that the flights on New York JFK- Campinas and Miami- Campinas routes will be operated with the help of a Boeing 767-300 aircraft. According to American Airlines, the aircraft to be flown on the two routes will be equipped with fully lie-flat seats in business class cabins with all-aisle access.
