American Airlines to unveil Super Diamond business class seats

The war for highly profitable premium class market seems to be getting fiercer by the day in the United States for the last one year now. American Airlines has also decided to make its first and business class customers happier than before with strong emphasis on providing better amenities and services, even though it is presently struggling on many fronts.

American Airlines has taken many steps in this regard. It has currently started implementing its plans for upgrading its Flagship Lounges and Admiral Clubs. The airline’s first class customers make use of the Flagship Lounge, while the access to Admiral Club is open to business class customers and other eligible passengers.

The new Super Diamond business class seats are also being installed on American Airlines’ new Airbus A350 aircrafts and Boeing Dreamliners. This time the business class seats would be delivered by a new manufacturer. Earlier, Zodiac was the provider but it has been dropped because of inordinate production delays. However, Florida-based firm B/E Aerospace will now be creating the airline’s new Super Diamond business class seats. Apart from Airbus A350s and Boeing Dreamliners, some current fleet members would also be using the business class seats.

A spokesperson of American Airlines said that business class upgrades are also due for some of the airline’s Boeing 777-200 aircrafts as well. The business class customers traveling to international destinations would be the first to enjoy the new lie-flat seats on Boeing 777s, Boeing 787s and Airbus A350s being used on long haul flights.

The airline promises a great experience to business class customers with some major advantages coming along with the new business class seats. The seats recline to 180 degrees and can be converted to lie-flat beds. The new business class cabin layout is quite attractive. Each business class customer would also be provided direct aisle access. Meanwhile, American Airlines has also indicated that the new premium economy class seats would also be provided by B/E as well.
