Asiana to launch long-haul A380 service for business class

Asiana Airlines has recently announced to launch A380 service on its long-haul route between Seoul Incheon and Los Angeles. The flights on this route will commence from August 20, 2014.

Asiana Airline will use the Double Decker A380 service for comfortable and pleasant journey for business class travelers. The 495-seat A380 aircraft will have three class configurations with 66 fully-flat seats in business class called as Business Smartium, 12 first class seats known as First Suites, and 417 economy class seats called Travel Class.

The Business Smartium has efficiently planned staggered 1-2-1 layout featuring wider private space. The zigzag layout pattern helps in optimum passenger movement and provides direct aisle access. All the seats are slightly angled, providing enhanced privacy. All the 66 seats are located on the upper deck of the aircraft.

Fully-flat bed seats with 74.5 inches in length have fully retractable armrests giving additional space to passengers. A 15.6 inch HD television screen with touchscreen controller allows passengers to keep themselves entertained through their journey. The passengers can spend time in Bar & Lounge located at the front portion of the upper deck of the aircraft. Business Smartium passengers also have access to extra large lavatories with spate dressing room.

Joost Van Der Heijden, head of marketing for Airbus, said that all travelers are provided with premium space in the A380 airbus. The airbus will become the flagship aircraft for the Asiana Airlines and satisfy their passengers with unmatched service, comfort, and efficiency. The A380 aircraft will make the airline survive in this competitive market with high quality service in all classes.

The flight on Seoul Incheon – Los Angeles route will leave Seoul Incheon at 2:50 p.m. and reach Los Angeles at 9:50 a.m. local time. The return flight will leave Los Angeles at 12:20 p.m. and reach Seoul Incheon at 5:20 p.m. the next day.
