Bernese Oberland cuisine for Swiss Air Lines First and Business Class passengers

Swiss Air Lines’ First Class and Business Class passengers are here in for a gastronomic treat. The airline has decided to serve culinary delights this winter from the beautiful region of Bernese Oberland in Switzerland.

Now, Swiss Air Lines will be featuring exotic dishes prepared by renowned chef Jan Leimbach of the Lenkerhof Alpine Resort in the airline’s “SWISS Taste of Switzerland” program. Leimbach has prepared a number of exclusive dishes under the program to be served in the First Class and Business Class cabins on long-haul flights originating from Switzerland as well as on longer European flights starting December this year until the end of February 2012.

According to the airline, business class passengers will be served with culinary delights such as beef fillets with cocoa nibs or cod wrapped in parma ham with tomato coulis for the next three months. The airline’s First Class passengers will be treated to choicest culinary delights such as fillet of veal with braised veal cheek or lobster salpicon with citrus jelly. Besides, the passengers in both First Class and Business Class will be served local Bernese cheeses and regional wines such as Chasselas Cuvée and a Charles Steiner Selection Blanc.   

The inflight meals are primarily inspired by the stunning Lenk/Simmental region of the Bernese Highlands featuring snow-capped mountains, lush green rolling hills and jagged rocks.
