British Airways free ski carriage offer for winter sports fans

British Airways offer this winter is sure to regale sports fans, particularly skiing enthusiasts. The airline is offering winter sports fans an excellent opportunity to fly their skis free of charge on flights to Zurich, Geneva or Chambery, the top 3 ski destinations. The flights are valid from London City Airport.

The customers booking flights to Chambery, Zurich or Geneva before October 31, 2011 will be offered a chance to take along with them an extra piece of hold luggage on their flights from December through March 2012.

The airline already allows one baggage free of charge. Under this promotion, passengers would be able to carry an additional baggage without any charges,

Luke Hayoe, General Manager Commercial of British Airways CityFlyer, said that a generous 23 kg baggage allowance is already allowed for passengers. However, the airline wants to provide an additional bonus to its skiing passengers this winter. The skiing passengers will be required to book their flights before October 31, 2011 in order to carry their skis free of charge through the end of March.

Currently, British Airways is operating 7 flights to Geneva from London City per week as well as 22 flights to Geneva every week. The airline will start a winter only services 4-times per week to Chambery from December 17, 2011.
