British Airways offering Avios discounts on short-haul flights

Here’s yet another cheap flights offer by British Airways for its Executive Club members. British Airways has recently launched a new flights option enabling its frequent flyer program Executive Club members to make use of their Avios on all short-haul flights departing from the UK.

Providing details about Avios discounts, British Airways said that the customers would be able to get up to $48 (30 GBP) off on a short-haul flight originating out of the UK by using up to 4,500 Avios. Those who use up to 3,000 Avios would get $32 (20 GBP) off, while the customers who use up to 1,500 Avios would receive $16 (10 GBP) off their airfares.
 
British Airways created the Avios reward scheme after its merger with Iberia. According to the airline, the customers are allowed to use part Aios, part cash in order to pay for an Avios redemption seat. However, under the new option the customers will be able to use Avios on any European booking, and not just redemption seats, in either the Euro Traveller (Economy Class) or Club Europe (Business Class) cabin. The customers will be able to use the new option on short-haul flights and includes all types of fares including the new hand-baggage only and semi-flex fares.
