British Airways to begin direct flights to Malta from March 30

Here’s new option for summer getaway from Gatwick. British Airways is all set to bring cheers to scores of sunseekers from Gatwick with the launch of new direct flights to Malta. The airline plans to start the service to Malta’s Luqa International Airport from March next year.

British Airways in a statement said that the daily flight services to Malta would begin from March 30, 2014 ahead of the peak summer holiday season. The passengers can now rejoice over the launch of the service as the airline has decided to offer them cheap airfares. According to the airline, hand-baggage only tickets in Euro Traveller (Economy Class) can be booked starting as low as from $89* (55 GBP) one-way. Similarly, cheap flights can also be booked by those traveling in Club Europe (Business Class) as well.

British Airways said that the flights on London Gatwick-Malta route would be operated with the help of a combination of a Boeing 737 and Airbus 319/320 aircrafts. The airline has further indicated that holiday flights would be further boosted with the start of more services to Catania, Marrakech, Dubrovnik, Naples and Salzburg from Gatwick during summer 2014.
