Flying with British Airways? Then business class customers get ready to enjoy some finer moments, and that too for free, without spending a single pound whatsoever. UK’s national carrier has recently unveiled its new promotion offering upgrades to first class for its business class customers for free.
Media reports said that if a customer has booked roundtrip international long-haul business class flight then British Airways would be upgrading one way trip to first class without any extra charges. Sara Dunham, British Airways’ Head of Marketing, said, “The airline wants to recognize its loyal business class customers and decided to provide free upgrades to first class at least on one-way of their roundtrip flights. This is a token of gratitude and a way of saying a thank-you for their consistent loyalty.”
According to the reports, this offer would be valid for roundtrip international business class tickets booked latest by December 11 for travel starting December 23 until December 30, 2016. The customers would however be required to contact their respective travel agents or call the airline directly for getting the upgrade. Though British Airways in a statement said the free upgrade should not be taken by business class customers as guaranteed. This would be possible only when the first class isn’t sold out.
A spokesperson of British Airways said that the free upgrade offer is though provided on select flights and applicable only for those customers having already booked their Club World or business class tickets, this would also be provided on American Airlines-operated flights to the United States as well when booked with a British Airways codeshare flight number.
First Class customers traveling on British Airways can look forward to a host of amenities on board their flights. These include access to exclusive airport lounges, special spa treatments, private suites on board the aircraft, and fully flat bed equipped with duvet and mattress.
