Cathay Pacific Airways launches its new Mobile Boarding Pass service

Cathay Pacific Airways recently unveiled its latest e-service enhancement. The airline has launched its new Mobile Boarding Pass service aimed at offering greater convenience for passengers flying on Cathay Pacific Airways flights from Auckland and Hong Kong.

Earlier, the airline had introduced successful trial of this service for passengers departing from Auckland in November 2011.

According to Cathay Pacific Airways, passengers who check-in utilizing the airline’s Online Check-in facility can opt to receive a boarding pass directly on their mobile devices via email or SMS text message. The image received via email or SMS by the passengers will be accepted as a bonafide boarding pass at the airport.

The Mobile Boarding Pass service is currently available to passengers departing from Hong Kong and Auckland only traveling point to point on Cathay Pacific Airways flights. However, the new service will not be available for passengers who check-in online with onward connections.

The airline plans to introduce the service across its network in future.
