China Southern Airlines direct flights to NYC launched

China Southern Airlines recently announced the launch of its direct flights services between Guangzhou and New York City (NYC). This is the airline’s first direct service being operated from Southern China to America’s East Coast.

China Southern Airlines is presently the largest airline on People’s Republic of China and a member of leading global airline alliance SkyTeam.
The airline in a statement said that it will be operating flights between Guangzhou and New York City four-times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The airline will be operating out of New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 4.

Guangzhou will be China Southern Airlines’ second destination in the United States and the third one in North America. The flights between the two cities were launched to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the United States and China.

The airline in a statement said that it will operate the flight on Guangzhou-New York City route with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft configured with a total of 309 seats – four seats in First Class, 34 seats in Business Class, 44 seats in Premium Economy and 227 seats in Economy Class.

A spokesperson of China Southern Airlines said that the passengers traveling in First Class will be offered four luxurious suites, while those traveling in the business class cabins will be provided fully lie-flat bed seats.

The launch of the new Guangzhou- New York City route is expected to boost competition and offer opportunity to customers to get cheap airfares.
