Delta signs codeshare agreement with Kenya Airways

Delta Airlines has entered into a partnership with fellow SkyTeam member, Kenya Airways to offer convenient flying options between Accra and Monrovia.

Service under this codeshare agreement will commence from September 1, 2014. Kenya Airways will be operating Boeing 737-300 aircraft three times a week. The service is scheduled to provide convenient connections with Delta’s nonstop service between JFK Airport, New York and Kotoka Airport, Accra. This new service substitutes Delta’s three-time weekly flights to Accra from Roberts International Airport, Monrovia.

This agreement will offer passengers arriving in Accra to directly proceed to the transit lounge, without getting into the immigration hassle and board New York bound flights to be operated by Delta. Flying Blue and SkyMiles members will continue to savor the accrual of miles and premium benefits like lounge access, priority boarding and added baggage allowance. Business class flyers connecting through Accra will now gain access to the newly opened Sanbra Priority Lounge, located just adjacent to the Delta’s airport gates.

Perry Cantarutti, Delta’s Senior VP for Africa, Europe, and the Middle East said, we have been serving in Liberia for the past four years and are happy to continue this association with the help of our partnership agreement with Kenya Airways. We understand the importance of our flight services between the United States and Monrovia. He further thanked the government of Liberia for extending their support and ascertained that the airline will continue facilitating air travel between the two countries with the help of its new partner, Kenya Airways.

New York -Accra- Monrovia flight will leave New York at 22.52pm and arrive in Accra at 1.30 pm next day. The flight will then depart from Accra at 14.55 pm and arrive in 15.10 pm. Return flight will leave Monrovia at 6pm and arrive in Accra at 8pm. The flight will then depart from Accra at 10.35pm and arrive in New York at 5.13am next day.
