Downtown Manhattan will see a new hotel being opened by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts by the end of 2016. The new hotel will be opened just nearby the historic Woolworth Building, which is only few distance away from the World Trade Center site.
The popular Canadian brand will now have two hotels in New York with the opening of the Four Seasons New York Downtown. Media reports said that the new Four Seasons New York Downtown will be housed in a 82-story limestone building and is being designed by Robert A.M. Stern. The building’s first 22 floors will comprise of 185 suites and rooms. The hotel will also be home to a luxury residential complex named Thirty Park Place on the other floors. The interiors with a mix of muted green, blue, white and grey colors and metallic and wood accents are being designed by Yabu Pushelberg.
Among other amenities to be offered at the Four Seasons New York Midtown include meeting spaces of varied range, a spa with indoor pool, a bar overlooking Church Street, and the first Wolfgang Puck CUT restaurant and bar on the East Coast. The guests staying in the rooms on higher floors would be able to enjoy fascinating views of Santiago Calatrava’s ‘World Trade Center Transportation Hub’ and the 9/11 memorial fountains. The work on new downtown property is currently underway.
Media reports also said that Four Seasons and Resorts has also initiated the renovation of the rooms at its I.M. Pei-designed hotel on 57th Street. The renovated rooms will have custom oak writing desks, new furniture, and upgraded décor with sycamore paneling. There will be three room categories here – Studio 57, Junior Suites and Deluxe Manhattan Suites. The Studio 57 with awesome views to the west and south measures 300 square feet, and is placed in ‘Upper Tower’ guest room category. The Junior Suites have 500 square feet of open-plan space, and offers either Park Avenue or Central Park views. The Deluxe Manhattan Suites are however double in size, and offers the option of being extended into a two-bedroom suite. The Deluxe Manhattan Suites also comprises of a separate living room with a dining table as well.
