Edelweiss Airline brings more business class seats to Zurich from Tampa airport

Edelweiss Airline, after receiving healthy $700,000 incentives to help the Tampa International Airport pick international traffic, announced through the airport CEO Joe Lopano about the introduction of Zurich international flights from Tampa. The new international flights would fly every Tuesday and Friday from May 25th 2012. In winters, the service would go to once weekly.

Once operational, this would be the first international flight from the airport. While announcing the introduction, the CEO sounded delighted to state that there would no more be the need to drive to Orlando airport for international flights.

Edelweiss Air is a subsidiary of Lufthansa and is currently owned by Swiss International Airlines.

The airline would use Airbus A330 with 332 seats out of which 296 will be economy and 36 are business class seats, giving more options for US business travelers to fly in Germany’s financial city.
