Emirates Airline refurbishing London Heathrow Terminal 3 lounge

The business class lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 3 being operated by Emirates Airline has been closed for refurbishment work for four months. Leading Middle East carrier has asked its customers traveling in first class or business class flights to make use of British Airways'' Galleries First and Galleries Club lounges in T3 till the reburshing exercise is complete. The access is also open to Skywards members as well.

However, media reports quoted a British Airways spokesperson as saying that the airline''s Club lounge will only be accessible to Emirates Airline''s customers. The Emirates Lounge has already shut down this June at London Heathrow and is expected to reopen later in October this year.

Emirates Airline is currently operating five Airbus A380 aircrafts daily out of London Heathrow Terminal 3. The flights depart at 09:05 hours, 14:15 hours, 17:00 hours, 20:40 hours and 22:15 hours respectively. Each of these aircraft offers 14 seats in first class and 76 business class seats. The British Airways lounges will be providing access to a total of 450 premium passengers on a daily basis. The top tier Emirates Rewards loyalty program cardholders will also be able to gain access to British Airways-operated lounges at T3.

A spokesperson of Emirates Airline said, “”The Emirates Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 3 is being overhauled and is likely to be completed after four months in October. The facility will be transformed into the contemporary premium service and will be more in line with the elegance of the airline''s new global lounge style. The customers traveling in first class and business class will continue to be offered exclusive chauffeur drive service, and dedicated check-in at London Heathrow.””

Earlier this year, Emirates Airline opened its new lounge at Tokyo Narita Terminal 2 in June and also at Los Angeles International Airport in March.
