Emirates launching second daily nonstop flights to Dubai from Glasgow June 1

Leading Middle East carrier Emirates recently announced that it will be launching its second daily nonstop flights to Dubai from Scotland’s Glasgow airport from June 1, 2012. The airline is starting the additional Glasgow-Dubai service considering the growing demand by travelers.

The additional flight will be increasing Emirates capacity to/from Glasgow by 47 percent, providing an extra 199 seats each way daily.

The airline also said that the flight service is expected to generate millions in visitor revenue and significantly contribute to the overall Scottish economy.

Earlier, Emirates started operating flights to Dubai from Glasgow since 2004. So far, it has carried more than 1.7 million passengers to/from Middle East and beyond.

Laurie Berryman, Vice President - UK & Ireland of Emirates, said that the airline’s Glasgow route has been a real success story. He said that first class cabins will also be introduced on both daily flights, providing the best amenities to passengers.
