Etihad Airways debut Airbus A380 service to New York JFK

UAE’s national carrier Etihad Airways recently inaugurated its first Airbus A380 flights service to the United States. The airline’s superjumbo started offering its flights to Abu Dhabi from New York JFK beginning November 23, 2015. The new service was however originally scheduled to be operational from December 1 this year.

The airline’s superjumbo A380 will be featuring three-room The Residence suite, the first of its kind in commercial aviation industry. The A380 roundtrip Flight EY103 and Flight EY102 will be the airline’s one of two daily services on Abu Dhabi-New York JFK route.

While providing the new schedule, the airline said that the outbound Flight EY103 will depart from Abu Dhabi International Airport at 03:20 hours and reach New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport at 09:10 hours. The return Flight EY102 will take off from New York JFK at 14:30 hours and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 12:15 hours next day.

The superjumbo A380 is configured in three classes and will be offering nine seats in first class, 70 seats in business class and 417 seats in economy class. Apart from this, the aircraft will also accommodate up to two in The Residence apartment. In addition to the new A380 service, Etihad Airways is also operating daily service with roundtrip Flight EY100 and Flight EY101 between New York JFK and Abu Dhabi with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Meanwhile, Etihad Airways has announced that it will be launching a daily A380 superjumbo service between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai starting from May 1, 2016. The airline is presently offering thrice daily flights services to Mumbai.
