Etihad Airways launches direct flights to Tripoli from Abu Dhabi

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of UAE, recently launched its direct flights to Tripoli from Abu Dhabi. The only direct commercial flight between the two capital cities of UAE and Tripoli will be operated three times every week.

Tripoli is Etihad Airways’ first new destination of 2012, and is also the airline’s fifth African destination.

James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, expressed pleasure at the start of direct flights to Tripoli. He said that Libya is a beautiful country and it will have much to offer to both business and leisure travelers in the coming years.

UAE Ambassador to Libya H.E. Sultan Rashid Al Kaytoub said that the new Etihad Airways route to Tripoli is likely to open up prospects for more trade, cooperation and investment, besides playing a vital role in enhancing tourism between the UAE and Libya.
