Fiji Airways recently strengthened its codeshare agreement with American Airlines. The move is aimed at providing better connectivity to those traveling across the United States and UK from Fiji.
Media reports said that the extended codeshare agreement will enable Fiji Airways to add eight destinations to/from Los Angeles and seven destinations to/from San Francisco. This would provide more travel options to customers taking nonstop flights from Los Angeles International Airport and San Francisco International Airport on Fiji Airways to gain seamless access to Fiji as well as major cities in the United States, including Phoenix, Miami, New York, Dallas, Seattle, Philadelphia, Portland, Nashville, Atlanta, and many more.
The reports said that the codeshare agreement between Fiji Airways and American Airlines would offer access to a total of 38 destinations across the United States, and also to the UK for the first time via American Airlines. Moreover, customers taking American Airlines flights would also be able to take advantage of new codeshare flights on Fiji Airways for travel between Fiji’s Nadi International Airport and San Francisco International Airport.
Earlier, the codeshare partnership between Fiji Airways and American Airlines first started in 2011. With this extended codeshare pact, the two airlines will now be able to provide connections to a total of 49 destinations in Europe, United States and South Pacific. The customers will now be able to book codeshare flights directly through American Airlines and Fiji Airways.
Andre Viljoen, Managing Director & CEO of Fiji Airways, said, “By extending its codeshare agreement with American Airlines, Fiji’s national carrier has truly achieved a remarkable feat. The travelers from the United States as well as from South Pacific region will mutually benefit with this extended and strengthened partnership.”
