Frontier Adds Two Nonstop Routes from Delaware

Frontier Airlines announced recently about the launch of two new nonstop flights to Detroit, Michigan and Atlanta, Georgia from Wilmington-New Castle Airport, Delaware. Both the routes will be operated thrice weekly.

With this addition, Frontier now offers flights to seven cities namely Orlando, Fort Myers, Tampa, Chicago-Midway, Denver, Atlanta and Detroit from New Castle. The newly added destinations were part of the expansion plan announced by the airline in November 2013.

Frontier started serving Wilmington-New Castle Airport from July 1, 2013, after a hiatus of five-long years, bringing commercial air service back to the city. Since then passengers have started opting for New Castle Airport instead of the congested airports present in Baltimore and Philadelphia. Even the airport and airline officials marketing these new routes said more and more passengers should make use of New Castle Airport as it is easy to reach and economical as compared to the ones in Baltimore and Philadelphia. Quick security screenings, free parking, and a shorter drive are some the USP’s of this airport.

Frontier CEO and President, Stephen Williams said that we are happy to fly to seven cities from the conveniently located Wilmington-New Castle Airport. We are sure that passengers will enjoy our consumer choices, friendly service and low airfares, when flying with us. If things go smooth then who knows, we might even decide to offer services to destinations like Charlotte and San Juan from Wilmington. Our presence here will simplify travel and offer convenient airport experiences for passengers, and will enable us strengthen our position here.

Frontier has deployed 168-seat Airbus 320 aircraft on both the routes. Both the routes will offer several customer comforts, including airline’s SELECT seating product and six rows of comfy STRETCH seating with an extra five to seven inches of leg space.

Flights will leave Wilmington (IGL) at 1315 hours and arrive in Atlanta (ATL) at 1515 hours. Return flight will leave ATL at 1600 hours and arrive in IGL at 1755 hours. For the other route flights will leave at IGL at 0830 hours and arrive in Detroit (DTW) at 1010 hours. Return flight will leave DTW at 1055 hours and arrive at IGL in 1230 hours. Flights on both the routes will operate on every Tuesdays, Thursday and Sundays.

In operations since last 20 years, Frontier serves nearly 75 destinations across the United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Jamaica. Employing nearly 3,800 aviation professionals the airline operates out of its primary hub at Denver International Airport.
