Frontier Airlines flight services from Manistee to stop from March 8

Frontier Airlines recently disclosed that it has decided to stop its flights to Milwaukee from Blacker Airport in Manistee County from March next year. The decision of the airline is a part of its restructuring plans and cost cuttings.

The airline had launched its flights to Milwaukee from Manistee in April and operated it twice daily. However, the airline will stop Milwaukee flights from Manistee from March 8, 2012.

Peter Kowalchuk, Spokesman for Frontier Airlines, said that the airline doesn’t find the flight services economically viable due to the current as well as high fuel prices.

Frontier Airlines had also reduced as well as eliminated small regional jets flying in a number of routes after a thorough analysis of the current difficult situations.

Kowalchuk said that starting November 1, 2011 there will be several eliminations and cuts in the flight services, particularly in Milwaukee. Besides, Denver, Kansas City will also see many changes as well. The airline will be suspending flights on those routes that are mostly operated by 37 or 50 seats regional jets, which the revenue analysis has shown to be uncompetitive.

Frontier Airlines has revealed that it will be reducing daily departures from 67 to 45 flights at Milwaukee. The airline will continue to offer one daily departure to Denver as well as four daily departures to Milwaukee.
