Frontier Airlines to begin direct Denver-Bellingham flights, offer cheap tickets for $90

Frontier Airlines recently announced it will launch direct nonstop flights between its hub in Denver and Bellingham starting later in May this year. The airline will also be offering cheap tickets for $90 on a trial basis throughout the summer.

The airline is trying to market Bellingham as the new gateway to Vancouver for Americans. Media reports quoted a travel expert as saying that Frontier Airlines has started advertising to its clients as Bellingham being a gateway to Vancouver, which obviously is good news to anybody running a convention center or a hotel. The expert also said that a lot of the domestic traffic is working its way south.

Allegiant Air as well as Alaska Airlines also operate flights out of Bellingham. However, the flights of both the carriers deal more with the northern and southern parts of the United States.

Frontier Airlines will be able to connect people with the eastern U.S. with its hub in Denver. The airline’s rivals are expected to keep a close watch and see whether the new route will be a profitable venture or not. The airline will start operating flights on Denver-Bellingham route from May 24, 2012, and will run until mid-September.
