Frontier launching flights to Bahamas from Trenton-Mercer in Nov

Good news awaits passengers traveling out of Trenton-Mercer Airport. Leading U.S. low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines has announced it will be launching direct flights between Bahamas and Trenton-Mercer. The airline is expected to launch the new service to Nassau by mid-November after the Bahamas government approves the airline’s request.

The airline’s announcement of the new route has come just a day after Frontier Airlines launched additional flights to Palm Beach International Airport. Presently, Frontier Airlines is the only U.S. carrier offering scheduled flights services out of Trenton-Mercer Airport.

Brian Hughes, Mercer County Executive, said that the decision of Frontier Airlines to introduce international service with the launch of direct flights to Bahamas, an island resort destination, is laudable. He said that this is for the first time in Trenton-Mercer Airport’s history that a commercial carrier will begin international flights out of here.

Frontier Airlines has already announced it will be launching flights to West Palm Beach from Trenton-Mercer Airport starting from November 21, 2014. To celebrate the launch of new service, the airline is offering cheap airfares starting at $59* each way. The travel period on this offer is valid until March 1, 2015.

The airline is currently offering nonstop flights services from Trenton-Mercer Airport to various destinations in the United States. The prominent destinations where Frontier Airlines is conducting flights out of Trenton-Mercer includes Tampa, St. Louis, St. Augustine, Raleigh-Durham, Orlando, Nashville, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago-Midway, Charlotte and Atlanta.

Meanwhile, Frontier Airlines is bracing to alter its winte4r schedule. The airline said that it will now be increasingly focusing on north-to-south routes. The emphasis will be more on Florida. The airline indicated that it will be adding frequent services to Charlotte, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa. The increased frequencies on Orlando route will now be twice daily flights.
