Garuda Indonesia enhances checked baggage in business class

If you are purchasing business class tickets on Garuda Indonesia, then you must be happier now. Indonesia’s national carrier Garuda Indonesia has upgraded its checked baggage allowance. This has been done for customers across all cabin classes, including business class. The airline said that the customers are all set to receive an additional 10 kg checked baggage allowance across its global network.

Garuda Indonesia said that the changes will be effective from this November itself. The enhanced checked baggage allowances are already being provided by the airline on flights to and from Australia. Uun Setiawan, Garuda Indonesia’s Vice President for Australia/South West Pacific, said that the Australian customers are taking the advantage of this allowance for a number of months, and the time has come for this facility to also be extended across the airline’s whole network.

According to the new limits set by Garuda Indonesia, the customers would be allowed a checked baggage allowance of 30 kg for Economy Class, 40 kg for Business Class and 50 kg for First Class. Apart from this, the airline will be providing an additional allowance of 23 kg per passenger for sporting equipment, such as surfboards, golf clubs or driving gear, free of charge. Garuda Indonesia wants to match its offerings on the lines of Singapore Airlines.
