The hotel industry in the United States is brimming with happiness. And why not? The industry is proud to say goodbye to the bygone year on a high note. SRT Global has produced the statistics for the fourth quarter of 2013. As per the report, the organization studied the performance, and basis the performance came up with the findings.

According to the latest report, the hotels witnessed an increase in their occupancy in 2013 throughout the country. Overall, the occupancy rate improved and at present stands at 57.5 percent. This is a 1.8 percent improvement as compared to the results for the year-over-year period. Besides, these figures, the average daily rates also increased by 3.3 percent. These rates now stand at $110.19. The revenue for per available room also witnessed an upward movement. It bettered 5.1 percent to be at $63.

Hotels across the country cater to the needs of different kinds of customers. There are luxury hotels and cheap hotels in different cities. Based on their personal budgets, travelers can book with one of these that fit their bills perfectly.

Analysts believe that the performance across the industry was fair but the highlight was the occupancy expansion, which was the highest in the last quarter throughout 2013. The cities of Denver outshone its other counterparts and displayed occupancy rate with an increase of 8.4 percent to be at 64.5 percent. Tampa and Nashville followed closely. Their occupancy rates increased 7.5 percent and 7.1 percent respectively.
