Icelandair begins flights from London Gatwick to Reykjavik, offer premium economy tickets

Iceland’s national flag carrier Icelandair recently announced the launching of its flights services between London’s Gatwick Airport and Reykjavik.

Welcoming Icelandair’s arrival at Gatwick Airport on October 18, the airport authorities said this is yet another addition to the airport’s list of short-haul airlines creating more choice for the passengers.

Icelandair in a statement said that it will be operating twice weekly service from Gatwick Airport to Reykjavik. The airline will be deploying a Boeing 757 aircraft to operate flights on London Gatwick-Reykjavik route.

According to the airline, the customers will be offered opportunity to book premium economy tickets in Economy Comfort cabin. The customers will also be able to book their tickets in other classes as well – Economy Class and Saga Class.

The airline said that the service between the two cities will be increased to three times every week in Spring 2013. The increase in frequencies will help connect customers to onward destinations in the U.S., such as Washington, Boston and New York.
