Israel’s El Al to launch 3 nonstop flights to Boston next June

The Massachusetts Port Authority recently signed an agreement with El Al Israel Airlines to begin nonstop flights to Boston. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick was also present at the signing ceremony.

The new pact will enable El Al to launch nonstop flights to Boston from Tel Aviv to be operated thrice weekly. Currently, Boston’s Logan International Airport is handling nonstop flights to 41 international destinations. Apart from Boston, El Al is conducting direct flights on three U.S. routes from Tel Aviv. These routes include Newark, New York and Los Angeles.

This year Boston has welcomed two international airlines as well. Turkish Airlines launched flights from Istanbul in May, while Hainan Airlines started operating flights from Beijing in June. Cathay Pacific Airways is also planning to introduce flights between Boston and Hong Kong from next spring.

El Al will be deploying a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft configured with 218 seats. Those booking business class tickets will be offered full lie-flat seats. The business class cabin will have a capacity to seat only 22 passengers.

Providing details of the flight schedule, a spokesperson of the airline said that the direct flights will be operated thrice weekly to Boston from Tel Aviv on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The flight will make its departure from Ben-Gurion International Airport at 12.30 am and arrive in Boston at 5.45 am (Boston time). The return flight will depart from Boston at 9 pm (Boston time) and will reach Tel Aviv at 3.05 pm (Israel time). The return flight from Boston will be conducted on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, while the arrivals in Tel Aviv will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
