Jet Airways direct flights to Chennai and Pune from Oct 30

Jet Airways recently announced that it will launch its direct flights to Chennai and Pune from October 30, 2011.

Jet Airways, India’s leading and largest private carrier, in a statement said that the direct flights to Chennai from Raipur will cover the distance between the two cities in less than 2 hours.

Chennai is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu, while Raipur is the capital of the newly formed state of Chattisgarh.

The airline also disclosed that Pune-Raipur-Hyderabad-Mumbai flight service will also be launched the same day. This will be the first direct flights to Pune being introduced from Raipur.

Meanwhile, Jet Airways stated that it has expanded its fleet by recently taking the delivery of first next-generation Boeing 737-800 with Boeing’s Sky Interiors. The airline plans to induct 10 more such aircrafts into its fleet. The airline expects the delivery of remaining aircrafts between October 2011 and March 2013.

Jet Airways, along with its subsidiary, currently owns a fleet of 115 aircrafts.
