JetBlue adds Worcester to its itinerary

JetBlue Airways is back in news yet again for a good reason. The airline just recently added flights to Worcester in Massachusetts. For the past two years, the Worcester Regional Airport had been lying idle and awaiting a carrier that would connect it with other parts of the country and simultaneously bring it back on the commercial aviation map.

The airline, which is popular for offering cheap flights to its customers, has done it for the city. The airport was happy to witness commercial operations kick starting once again. The carrier in fact launched daily round trip services from Worcester to Orlando as well as Fort Lauderdale. This news has spread a wave of joy and pleasure amongst the airport authorities and passengers alike.

Last scheduled flight from this airport ceased operation in March 2012 when leisure carrier Direct Air announced its surprise decision to end service. This decision caused flutter, chaos, and stranded many passengers across the United States who were waiting to return home to the city with the airline. The airline however, almost immediately filed for bankruptcy marking an end to its business.

Ever since the airport management had been trying hard to convince and entice other carriers to commence service from its base. Its efforts now seem to be doing great as JetBlue continues to fly from the city to two new locations.
