JetBlue Airways has further strengthened its relations with Seaborne Airlines. San Juan’s largest carrier JetBlue Airways has expanded its successful interline agreement with Seaborne Airlines and has now entered into a codeshare partnership. The interline agreement between the two airlines was in place since 2013. The codeshare pact between the two low-cost carriers will help in boosting enhanced connectivity in the Caribbean.
Scott Laurence, JetBlue Airways’ Senior Vice President – Airline Planning, said, “JetBlue Airways is presently the largest and most customer friendly carrier in San Juan thus putting it into a leading position. Seaborne Airlines on the other hand has an extended local reach. The codeshare partnership is undoubtedly a win-win situation for the two airlines, their respective customers and tourism. The codeshare pact between the two airlines will make traveling to the Caribbean much easier than before and would be just wonderful for those planning for a beach vacation or family visit.”
Gary Foss, President and CEO of Seaborne Airlines, said, “It is a matter of great delight that Seaborne Airlines has entered into a codeshare partnership with JetBlue Airways. This will help in offering improved air connectivity in both the airline’s common hub San Juan, while at the same time adding tremendous value to the Caribbean region, its residents, tourists and businesses.”
JetBlue Airways is presently the largest carrier in terms of flights and seats at San Juan’s Luis Munoz Marin International Airport. Seaborne Airlines is currently the largest regional operator in San Juan. Both the airlines will now be offering 50 daily flights connecting 22 destinations. With the codeshare partnership in place now, Seaborne Airlines will be expanding JetBlue Airways’ network to several new destinations, including Tortola, St. Kitts, Nevis, Martinique, Guadalupe, Dominica, and Anguilla.
