JetBlue Airways Maria-hit passengers to be waived change fees

JetBlue Airways has said that it will compensate its passengers who have been affected by Tropical Storm Maria.

The airline said that it has decided to waive change fees and fare differences to its Maria-hit passengers who had booked for their travel prior to September 9, 2011 to or from some of the select cities in the Caribbean. The customers will be allowed to rebook for their travel either through September 14 or September 15, 2011.

JetBlue Airways also said that those customers whose flights had been cancelled by the airline due to Tropical Storm Maria can also seek a refund on their air tickets.

JetBlue Airways is based at its hub in New York and offers flight services from Boston, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. The airline currently operates 650 daily flights to 66 cities. Besides, the airline has also announced that it is planning to introduce flights to Liberia (Costa Rica), La Romana (Dominican Republic), and St. Croix and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, later this year.
