JetBlue Airways stops one flight to Orlando from Stewart

JetBlue Airways recently stopped operating its second daily flight to Orlando from Stewart without providing sufficient reasons.

Ron Marsico, Stewart Airport spokesman, said that the quiet pull out from schedule flights to Orlando should not be a cause for worry as it will resume flight operations in spring. He said that the flight was planned as seasonal and would likely be returning in March 2012.

The second daily flight to Orlando was labeled as seasonal and announced in November last year. The announcement was made seven months ahead of its launch raising hopes of becoming permanent.

Dave Barger, President and CEO of JetBlue Airways, said that this could have become a year-round flight had there been enough demand for this.

The flight, which has been dropped, was an evening flight departing from Stewart at 7 pm and arriving before 10 pm.

JetBlue Airways is now left with only two daily flights out of Stewart Airport. The airline now operates a morning flight to Orlando as well as an afternoon flight to Fort Lauderdale.
