JetBlue Airways and Turkish Airlines recently announced the launch of their codeshare deal. Under this agreement Turkish Airlines will place its code TK on few of JetBlue’s routes operated out of Boston Logan International airport and JFK airport.
Aimed towards increasing global connectivity via Istanbul, this codeshare agreement will allow travelers to book one single ticket combining flights on both carriers. Passengers will now be able to experience seamless air travel post this codeshare.
At present, Turkish Airlines operates up to three flights daily between JFK International Airport and Istanbul Ataturk Airport. It has also announced the launch of its first direct service to Boston from Istanbul. This nonstop service will benefit passengers the most as JetBlue serves most number of flights and flies to maximum destinations as compared to any other airline, operating from Boston Logan International Airport.
Passengers will also be able to fly beyond Istanbul using Turkish Airlines’ onward connections to destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and the Far East. Via JetBlue, passengers will gain access to 24 top U.S. destinations including Baltimore, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Raleigh/Durham, Tampa, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and Rochester.
Scott Laurence, JetBlue’s VP of Network Planning said more and more international airlines are getting pulled towards Boston Logan as JetBlue has the most expansive route network here. We are very happy to strike a codeshare deal with Turkish Airlines. More so because, even we are expanding our network across the USA, with Boston Logan being our focus city.
Turkish is proud of having the most expansive route networks in the world, spanning more than 247 destinations in 106 countries.
Passengers connecting to flights operated by JetBlue will experience award-winning in-flight services like non-alcoholic drinks & limitless snacks for free and TV monitors for in-flight entertainment for free. They will also get comfortable in the most spacious economy class seats offered by any U.S. airline on domestic sector and complimentary satellite broadband internet service on selected routes.
