Korean Air Introduces Nonstop Flights to Houston

Korean Air will now offer daily nonstop flights to Houston. On the basis of demand and overwhelming initial reservations the airline has decided to expand its service even before the launch of this route. Initially Korean air had decided to offer only four flights a week between Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Incheon International Airport. Maiden flight is scheduled for May 2.

The popularity of Houston has extended tremendously in less than a year. The city is becoming an international city with more and more carriers connecting Houston to other global cities. This is the third time since last April that an international carrier has decided to expand its service from Bush Intercontinental Airport. In April 2013, Turkish Airlines started its first flight from Istanbul and is now offering daily flights between the two cities. In July same year, Air China launched service to Houston from Beijing, becoming the first Chinese carrier in 30 year to offer flights to Houston. From May 2014 even Air China will offer daily flights on this route.

Houston-Incheon service is a boon for travelers. The city of Houston offers more convenient and frequent flying options to south and Central America as compared to cities like New York and Los Angeles.

Daily nonstop flights will leave Incheon Airport at 0910 hours and arrive in Houston at 0830 hours. Return flight will leave George Bush Intercontinental Airport at 1040 hours and arrive in Incheon airport at 1530 hours next day. A 248-seat Boeing 777-200 will operate service on this route, offering three seats under three different classifications.

Houston will be the 14th gateway for Korean Air in the Americas. As of now it flies to Chicago, Atlanta, Honolulu, Dallas, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Washington D.C., Sao Paulo, Vancouver and Toronto.
