Korean Air orders for seven new aircrafts

Korean Air has recently placed an order for seven new aircrafts with the aircraft-manufacturing giants Airbus and Boeing. The airline has placed an order of five more Airbus A330-200s and two Boeing B777-300ERs. The new aircrafts are scheduled to be delivered between 2013 and 2015.

At present, the carrier has 23, A330 aircrafts and 10, B777-300ERs in its fleet. Of the 23, A330 aircrafts the airline has 16 refurbished A330-300s, three enhanced A330-200s and four new A330-200s. The addition of the new A330-200 aircrafts will bring the total to 30 aircrafts of this type.

In March, the airline received a delivery of its fourth enhanced A330-200 aircraft and will be receiving an additional A330-200 in 2013 and 2015, which it had ordered in 2009.

As per the airline the new A330-200 aircrafts will be used on mid and long-haul routes.
