LAN to offer business class on Santiago - JFK using 787-9 Dreamliner

South America’s largest airline company LAN Airlines, which is also part of LATAM Airlines Group, will become the first airline to offer nonstop service to a South American destination from New York JFK Airport using the service of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The airline will offer daily flight service between New York JFK and Santiago, Chile.

To commence operations from July 20, 2015, this new nonstop international service will accommodate 313 passengers is a two-seat classification. It will offer 30 seats in Premium Business and 283 seats in coach. The interior of the aircrafts with sport a Unified Cabin Design, which has been specifically designed keeping in the parameters required for a long-haul flight.

Priestmangoode, the fabled design firm has worked on its interiors. Fresh design, use of state of the art technology, electronic auto-dimming windows, customized in-flight environment using dynamic lighting, bigger size windows allowing more visibility to passengers are some small yet important details that have been kept in mind while doing the interiors of this aircraft. As all these will improve the overall quality of a passenger's trip.

LAN at present offers the service of Boeing 787-8s – the smaller, original version of the Dreamliner – for few of its flights between Santiago and New York JFK. By adding this all new 787-9 Dreamliner service on its routes, it will become the first airline to offer international service to South America from JFK airport using this kind of an aircraft.

At present LAN has 10 Dreamliners in its fleet and by the end of this decade it plans to buy 32 more of these aircrafts.
