LATAM Airlines Introduces First Direct Carrier from Santiago to Melbourne

LATAM Airlines has now connected Melbourne with Santiago with its first non-stop fleet. The announcement of the route dates back in December. Considered the longest route in any of the airlines history, the carrier covers 11000 km in distance whereas 15 hours duration wise.

For Victorian passengers, it is no less than music to ears and they will now be able to arrive Santiago without bearing those stop-over connectivity. Lyell Strambi, Melbourne Airport CEO stated, ‘Wanderlusts can now reach the Chilean capital to discover the major attractions and soak into the rich culture of South America.’

The most needed connectivity between Australasia and South America is not fulfilled with the new added route. The service has also open ways for easy access into the major markets of South America including Brazil with the one and only stop. Further, Melburnians can reach the international destination with this lighter aircraft.

304-seat B787-9 Dreamliner of LATAM Airline is covering the route and is equipped with 54 Space + (premium economy), 30 Premium Business as well as 220 economy class seats. The flight would depart from Santiago on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and depart from Melbourne on every Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
