Lufthansa launches new premium economy class at ITB Berlin

Lufthansa, the largest airline of Germany unveiled its premium economy cabins for long-haul routes. The airline ended the suspense by pulling the curtains on these seats at the ITB fair in Berlin recently. The airline intends to equip its fleet of Boeing 747-8 planes with these seats that serve various long-haul destinations across the globe.

Germany’s largest airline plans to fit the rest of its fleet with these seats by the summer of 2015. Its new planes henceforth will also be equipped with this cabin. Passengers booking premium economy tickets with the carrier will enjoy their space between the business class and economy class cabins. It expects to fit between 21 and 52 seats on each of its planes embarking on long distance flights. The number of seats will however, depend on the aircraft type.

These seats will offer 38-inch pitch, 18 to 19 inches width, and 130 degree recline. Travelers will be able to entertain themselves on 12-inches of seat back monitors, will contain footrests, and will offer power outlets. Travelers will enjoy a generous baggage allowance of 23 kg and will be able to check-in two pieces. Travelers will also be able to access business class lounges for an additional fees of 25 euros.

They will be greeted with a welcome drink on-board. They can enjoy luxurious amenity kits, and relish delectable meals on porcelain tableware. They can read from a number of newspapers and magazines offered and can also make the best use of the entertainment options along with video games during their journey. Overall, the travelers can enjoy various luxuries at low fares in this class.
