On the occasion of Octoberfest, Lufthansa is making special preparation to celebrate the same. The airline is serving fresh beer on the eve of Octoberfest on selected jetliners in the month of October. The flight attendants in special traditional costumes would be offering beer to the customers. The promotion would be done in flights flying on September 19 on route to New York, from Munich to Singapore on September 25 as well as on flights flying from Munich to Shanghai on October 6.
The Octoberfest menu is specially prepared for the business class passengers and undoubtedly, it fits appropriately with the freshly served beer. The special menu has been authentically created by the flight attendants of the airline in partnership with LSG Sky Chefs. The menu includes char served with pistachio pesto, Bavarian cream and Riesling sauce as well as ox tartare with truffle. Passengers flying in business class can enjoy the Octoberfest menu on every intercontinental jetliners. This year, the fresh beer is served in beer kegs.
The crew would wear traditional costumes on specified European flights. The apparels were custom-tailored and designed by Angermaier, the renowned Munich traditional costume expert. The female attendants would wear dark blue dirndl paired with silver-gray apron whereas the male candidates would be seen in short Lederhosen accompanied with a dark blue waistcoat.
The menu available in the restaurants of the first-class lounges include Octoberfest soup and specially prepared duck served in a homely style. Passengers can enjoy plum and apricot dumplings served with vanilla espuma as dessert.
There’s a special gift for flyers landing at Terminal 2 of Munich airport on the first weekend of the Octoberfest eve. Passengers would be delighted to receive a free box comprising a vitamin drink, ribbon for a beer mug, fruit gummies and salty pretzels.
