Now you won’t be able to miss a connecting flight if you are short of time, and particularly when you are a premium customer traveling by British Airways. UK’s national carrier British Airways has recently unveiled a new service primarily aimed at its premium customers traveling in First Class and Business Class (Club World). The objective of the new service is to eliminate missed connections at London Heathrow Airport.
Media reports said that the eligible customers would be offered a car transfer under the new Premium Transfer Drive service. The car transfer would be for an onward British Airways-operated short or long-haul flight from the domestic flight. This would prove advantageous to all those premium customers who ran the risk or feared missing their onward connecting flight.
According to the reports, the customers eligible for availing the Premium Transfer Drive service include those traveling in Club Europe on a short-haul flight. The customers traveling in First Class or Club World wanting to connect onto a long-haul flight are eligible too, and so are Gold or Silver Executive Club members.
British Airways would be placing its dedicated team at London Heathrow Airport who would be tracking such customers and where these customers run the risk of missing their connecting flight. The airline’s team would instantly come to their aid and assist them in providing an ‘airside’ car for transferring between domestic flight and onward connecting flight. Apart from this, the airline would also be sending a message to the inbound aircraft so that the customers are informed by the cabin crew about the availability of a car that would be waiting for them. With this new service the airline hopes that the customers’ worry or stress would be alleviated.
Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ newly-appointed Director of Brand and Customer Experience, said, “When a customer misses a connecting flight then it’s surely a painful and stressful situation that one could ever experience. We understand the pain of the customers in such situations. It is important and critical that the customers should be helped and kept informed through their journey. The new Premium Transfer Drive service has been exclusively designed for this purpose and would help customers with car transfer who run the risk of missing their connecting flight.”
