Philippine Airlines Manila-Guam flights to continue

Philippine Airlines recently announced that despite an ongoing labor unrest and disruptions on international routes it has decided to continue to operate its flights to Guam from Manila four times every week.

The airline has issued a flight advisory stating that its Guam to Manila service will continue to operate as scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays every week. The flight will depart Guam at 6 am and will arrive at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 at 7.50 am.

Further, the return Manila to Guam service will continue to be as scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The flight will depart Manila at 10 pm.

The national carrier Philippine Airlines in a statement said that last week there were disruptions to 40 international as well as 64 domestic flights. The flights were disrupted because of the protests by former employees and the union representing them. The protests started after airline employees lost their jobs when Philippine Airlines decided to outsource 2,400 jobs related to call-center, flight catering and ground handling.

Jaime Bautista, President and Chief Operating Officer of Philippine Airlines, said that the flight services are gradually returning to normal and that the airline is determined to see the difficult transition phase through.
