Qantas may install fully-flat business class seats in A330s

Australia’s national flag carrier Qantas Airways has indicated that it is looking forward to upgrade its latest Airbus A330 aircrafts and would be installing more spacious business class seats.

The airline is planning to take the move after facing criticism over the business class seats in its new A330s. The airline is currently into stiff competition with its main rival Virgin Australia.

The airline has now said that it would be installing in future more spacious seats, including fully lie-flat beds on its international versions of A330 aircrafts.

Virgin Australia is currently offering angled beds to its customers booking business class tickets and traveling by A330 aircrafts. Both the carriers, Qantas Airways and Virgin Australia, are engaged into a tough fight to gain huge market share on the lucrative east-west route. Both the airlines are now making extensive efforts to offer all-A330 services on this route.

The move of Qantas Airways is aimed at closing the gap with Virgin Australia and earns big revenues. The airline is planning to offer weekday services on Melbourne-Perth and Sydney-Perth routes exclusively on A330s starting from May 2013.
