Qatar Airways was recently presented the ‘Business Airline of the Year’ award for the second consecutive year. The airline won the title during the prestigious UK Business Travel Awards 2015 presentation ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The 20th edition of the Business Travel Awards, which is held annually, was hosted by a leading travel magazine ‘Buying Business Travel’. The awards are given to acknowledge the achievements of companies and professionals in the travel industry. The award was presented across 21 categories.
Qatar Airways presently operates a fleet of 146 aircrafts and efficiently connects business and leisure travelers to above 145 destinations across North America, South America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
Earlier, the airline in 2014 launched new flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, Philadelphia, Edinburgh, Istanbul, Larnaca, Dubai and Sharjah.
Apart from Qatar Airways, among other airlines also shortlisted for Business Airline of the Year award included Lufthansa German airlines, Etihad Airways, Delta Air Lines, All Nippon Airways, KLM and Air France.
Meanwhile, the airline has announced it will be operating 63 direct flight services per week to Doha from the UK, with 42 flights from London Heathrow, 14 from Manchester and seven flights from Edinburgh.
Qatar Airways in May 2014 became the first airline to introduce an all-Business Class A319 service to Doha from London Heathrow. The aircraft offers a total of 40 fully flat business class seats with a single aisle, 2-2 seating configuration.
