Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2016 has recently been announced. Qatar Airways has emerged as a winner and bagged “Airline With The Best Business Class” award. Apart from Qatar Airways, the awards have been presented to other airlines as well in different categories.
Media reports said that Dubai International Airport became a winner in the “Best Airport In The Middle East” award category. Presently, Dubai International Airport is the busiest in the world in terms of international passengers traffic, which was a record of sorts with more than 78 million passengers arrivals in 2015. Middle East’s premier airport currently handles nearly 100 airlines offering seamless connections to more than 240 destinations across the world. However, Singapore Changi Airport was presented “Best Airport In The World” award.
Among other airlines to win awards include Etihad Airways and Emirates Airlines. It was a double win for Etihad Airways as it won “Airline With The Best First Class” and “Airline With The Best Frequent Flyer Programme” awards. Moreover, it was a hat trick for Emirates Airlines as it succeeded in winning three coveted awards. The airline was presented “Best Airline Worldwide”, “Airline With The Best Economy Class” and “Airline With The Best Cabin Staff”. The three coveted awards also helped Emirates Airlines to continue to remain at the top in the commercial civil aviation industry.
The awards were presented in several other categories. According to reports, the top three countries in terms of destinations in 2015 were India, UK and Saudi Arabia to be served to/from Dubai International Airport. The top three destination cities that remained connected by Dubai International Airport included Doha, London and Mumbai.
Dubai Duty Free was also presented the prestigious “Best Airport For Duty Free Shopping In The Middle East” award once again. While, Al Mourjan Business Lounge at Doha’s Hamad International Airport won the “Best Airport Lounge In The Middle East” award.
